Newsweek and STEM.org Name City of Knowledge a Top STEM School

Newsweek partnered with STEM.org to rank America’s Best STEM high schools, honoring excellence in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Of the 5,000 schools ranked (out of the nation’s 37,000 high schools), City of Knowledge ranked at 1,836, putting it in the nation’s top 5% of high schools in STEM. The criteria included schools “in every region of the country that offer skilled teachers who keep up with developments in these fields and who create dynamic learning environments to engage their students.”

The purpose of the rankings was to determine which institutions in America best offer students experiences in STEM while preparing them for post‐secondary outcomes. “Children don’t realize it, but they’re natural STEM students,” says Nancy Cooper, Newsweek Global Editor in Chief. “We need to make sure that innate drive, curiosity, and creativity aren’t lost along the way. These high schools are helping to ensure America’s future in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics is in good hands.”

Kudos to our dedicated staff and administration, and enthusiastic students, on this remarkable achievement!
