Primary School Objectives
Arabic
To teach the fundamentals of written and spoken Arabic, and expose the students to the basics of Islamic culture.
Ethics
To teach the principles and beleifs of Islam, the practices and acts of worship and the philosophy of each of these acts, and introduce Islamic history based on the Holy Quran and Sunna.
Literature-based language arts program
To improve the quality and increase the quantity of listening, speaking, reading, and writing using whole language, literature, and a phonics approach as appropriate.
Mathematics
1) To increase a student’s higher order thinking skills using a contemporary and traditional curriculum, the math text, calculators, manipulative materials, and computers.
2) To possess the mathematical skills required for a successful daily adult life.
3) To enhance problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Science
1) To enable each student to learn and value the scientific process while gaining content information so he/she can function in, and have a positive impact on, an ever-changing world.
2) To understand the relationship between science and technology.
3) To treat the environment with responsibility and care.
History / Social Science
1) To enable each student to learn and apply the concept and skills of geography, history and social science so as to become a productive and caring citizen of this world.
2) To enable each student to understand his own values and to be able to recognize the values of others.
Health
1) To enable each student to gain knowledge, skills, and practices that will extend his understanding of good health, and improve his fitness and well-being.
2) To enable each student to understand the relationship between decisions and consequences.
Computer Literacy
1) To gain familiarity with the computer as a tool while using higher order thinking skills, educational technology skills, and using the word processor for improvement of writing.
2) To be able to adapt to technological change.
Physical Education
1) To improve the quality and increase the quantity of physical education activities, to enable each student to participate daily in skill-building fitness activities.
2) To improve sportsmanship, so the student will improve his state of well-being and value and apply this learning in his personal life.
Visual and Performing Arts
1) To improve the quality and increase the quantity of diversified art and drama within our visual and performing arts program, and to enable each student to gain skills, knowledge, and appreciation of the arts and foreign language.
Staff Development
To improve our coordinated staff development program, to involve all school personnel in planning, participating, applying, and evaluating program activities designed to improve the staff’s job-related skills and knowledge so they can help students learn more effectively.
The Learning Environment
To provide school-wide leadership that will support and promote the instructional and extracurricular program for all students.
School-wide Effectiveness To improve school-wide effectiveness (curriculum, instruction, school-wide activities, discipline, planning/evaluation process) to enable each student to be a successful learner so he can reach his present and future goals.
